Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. I feel filled with love of family and Friends. Living in California for the last 20 years has been a dream come true. I have 2 beautiful children, Jessica Lee, 12 years old now ( time goes by so fast) and James Dean, 9 years old this year. Both of them helped me on this recording. They did a duet of "Away in a Manger" and Jessica opens and ends "Where are you Christmas?". Jessica also had her friends, Emily, Rebecca, Audrey and her best fried Tess over for a birthday sleep over and I convinced them to do "Hark the herald angels sing" for the end of the Peanuts Medley and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" for the album. It was so much fun!

Thank you to My beautiful wife Michelle, who has made the last 15 Christmases the happiest of my life.

I have so many blessings that I am thankful for. But every year at Christmas I am torn between my family here in the south and my family in the great white north. I miss you all so much and as I recorded this album I felt closer to you all than any year since I have been away.

It took me 2 years to complete the record and many times I was so overcome with emotion that I literally could not sing. I miss the old days when we would all sing together in that fantastic harmony that we so easily blended together. I especially miss mom’s voice, since she has been sick it has been very hard every year for me not to be there with her. But I can still hear her singing in my mind. She always loved Christmas and with my father, made Christmas so special, even on a very modest budget. There was always singing and great music, food and love, its because of them that I am where I am today.

So this year I put together a mix of my favorite songs, some old ones that we used to sing around the tree and in church, and some new ones that have come to be my favorites.

I also took Leonard Cohen's beautiful melody from "Hallelujah" and I was moved to write the christmas story to it. I have always loved this song and wanted to record it. The lyrics were found in St. Matthew, St Luke and Isaiah from the King James Bible. I wanted to stay true to the scriptures accounts of the reason we celebrate Christmas, Jesus' Birth, so I took most of the words straight out of the bible. I hope you like it.

Merry Christmas to all of you, Family and Friends
